About Me

Lenn Chapman: I am a self-taught cartoonist who fell into this racket by accident 30 years ago? I submitted a cartoon to Reader's Digest and they bought it! But being a full-time cartoonist was another matter. Meanwhile, I paid the bills working in the scale industry installing module scales for trucking, railway systems, medical and grocery store scales. Cartooning was a sideline. I made tons of mistakes, and drew a gazillion cartoons; some just awful. Then one day everything changed. I lost my job! But there is a silver lining to all this. My cartoons got picked up by a Canadian syndicate. A little one mind you, but it opened doors. What is a syndicate? It's not the Mafia or like in the Mission Impossible movies. A syndicate, say King Features, goes around selling their client's cartoons to newspapers and magazines. Well, Reader's Digest liked my work so much they gave me a job! I even published a book! These days I'm mostly retired and play my guitar. Well, that's about all there is to say about cartooning and me; most of it not very interesting anyway. In fact, I dozed off writing this! Hope you enjoy the cartoons as much as I enjoyed drawing them. Cheers!
